2 cups granulated sugar
3/4 cup of water
2/3 cup of clear corn syrup
food colouring of your choice
Step 1
In a medium size saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup and water.
 Step 2
Bring to a boil until it becomes light in yellow. 5-7 minutes
Step 3
If you want the glass to be coloured, you may add food colouring.
Step 4
Poor your caramel onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper or parchment paper. Make sure to spread the caramel on your sheet. (be very careful not to burn yourself)
Step 5
Cover with plastic wrap and let it set and cool on your counter for at least 2 hours. Do not put your baking sheet in the fridge because this will create grains in your product, therefore it will not be clear.
 Step 6
Once completely harden, lift and separate your piece from your wax or parchment paper. Drop it on your cookie sheet, this will break the caramel and create broken glass effect.
