Apple pie crumble recipe

Fall is right around the corner, it is time for you to make your recipes of the season. Here is one of my kids favorite fall desserts, apple pie crumble. It is easy to make and soooo delicious. I have tried many different recipes but this is my all time favorite one. You can eat it as it is or even top it with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients:
  • 1 Frozen pie crust
Topping:
  • 1 1/4 cup of flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
Filling:
  • 6-8 apples, peeled, cored and sliced (Granny Smith or Cortland)
  • 1tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
Instructions:
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F
Step 2
Place apples in a large mixing bowl and toss them with the lemon juice. (this will prevent them from turning brown) Add the sugars, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and toss until coated. Set aside, this will make your apples release more juices.
 Step 3
Roll out your pie dough and place it into a 9inch pie pan. Gently press it down and poke holes using a fork. (this will insure that the heat is distributed well.) Cut the excess dough using scissors or a knife.
Step 4
Spoon apple filling into your pie crust including all the apple juice created.
Step 5
Making the topping
In a medium bowl, combine all the topping ingredients and mixt them using a fork until they because crumble.
  Step 6
Bake 15 minutes at 450 degrees, reduce the heat to 350 degrees and bake an additional 45-60 minutes. Slice and serve alone or with vanille ice cream.

 ENJOY!
