This beautiful black and white frilled flower is perfect for elegant cakes such as weddings. This easy technic can be made with fondant of gumpaste.

You will need these shape cutters to make the frill flower. To make the big flower, you will need to cut two pieces of the big cutter and one piece of the small cutter. To make the small flower, you will need to cut two pieces of the medium cutter and one piece of the small cutter.
Using a toothpick, frill the edges of each piece.
Place each pieces into a cupcake mold and let it dry at least 24 hours. (The big pieces should be placed in a normal size cupcake mold and the small pieces should be placed into the small cupcake mold).
Using a clean brush, apply a little bit of water in the middle of each pieces. (water and fondant will act like a glue) Glue two big pieces together.
To make the inside of the flower, create a round shape using black fondant. Then, using a toothpick, create creases.
Poke non edible flower stem on the side of your piece. (Longer pieces on the outside and smaller pieces in between, see picture)
Apply a small amount of water in the middle of your flower and glue your middle part.
